THIS IS EXCITING! making this from free-hand is full star work. i applaud you for your work. you got pinkie pie's impact for sure. yes. and visioning pinkies reaction is not exactly 'simple' or 'predicable' and should be done with fun. i think you did this but for originality, i don't see how any mere still of a pony is going to add up to a lot, ever. it can be at least a single frame comic? but you say that this is her response for the mars event, so that gives it some life. good job. :I :C
Wow! It looks amazing! I really love the idea, of her being on Mars and seeing Curiosity! However just a few things I'd like to point out
On the little end bob, of her mane? Not the one in front of her face but the one for the bottom of her mane? I think the miter limit butchered that one, but I don't know. Maybe just fix it an eensy bit? The point end is tilting upward too dramatically.
I believe Pinkie's eyelashes are 3 on top, and 2 on the bottom? It looks like here you only included the three on top. Her back leg is a bit too short, unless you are trying perspective. If you aren't trying perspective, then I would make it longer. If you are going for perspective, you have the right size, but you might want to change the flank and stuff to be more 'tilted' to the screen.
Overall, a great vector for using little reference! And the edited photo you did (the black and white one? ) is fabulous!
I'm definitely going to give you a 100% on this one! Great job! I really love your work and you were the one to inspire me to vector
Wow for something not done but trace or in the direct reference from the show, could have sworn this was really directly from it, bravo mandydax.
Have to say its pretty amazing seeing the way people are able to now copy the style and look of the MLP characters spot on from the artists themselves but really a fantastic job with getting the vibe and feel for Pinkie Pie expression.
While she isn't known to be one of the more emotional ones, like this rather offbeat idea of her hanging jaw and even the narrow feel of the eyes, much like after Spike stomped down Sugarcube Corner, lol.
The perspective here is done well enough especially how you have her head larger than the body and again the size of the eyes and the hanging mouth to really catch ones attention.
Plus a nice show even getting some of her cotton candy hair right at this angle, considerings its usual large size and tendency to go everywhere you done well to structure everything so you can tell mane from tail and even the little hair that hangs on the face, bravo and keep up the great work mandydax.
She's certainly the most cartoony of the bunch which is one the more reasons why she's so good at expressing her character unlike a character from another show would be. But again cheers nailing good perspective and even more a great Pinkie Pie. ^-^
